Watsonia Pre-school enrollment

In the Banyule area, kindergarten enrolments for all kindergartens are administered under the Central Enrolment System. Please register online.

Children are eligible to attend three-year-old kindergarten if they turn three by 30 April in the year of attendance. Your child must have already turned three in order to commence kindergarten.

Your child is eligible to enrol for four-year-old kindergarten if they turn age four by 30 April in the year of attendance.

Please note: Attendance in our three-year-old program does not give automatic entry to our four-year-old program. Separate enrolment is required for four-year-old Kindergarten through Banyule council.

The first time you go through the online registration process, you will be required to set up a user account and password. Then, it’s child's play to:

  • Register your child

  • Pay the registration fee

  • Change your kindergarten preference

  • Respond to your kindergarten offer

  • Update your details

For more information, call the Kindergarten Support Officer on 9490 4222. Or email kindergartens@banyule.vic.gov.au

Repeating pre-school

As of 2022 there are some changes taking place to enrolments for three and four-year-old Kinder. This means that you will no longer be able to apply for a Second year of three-year-old Kindergarten from 2023.

If you have younger children (born between January 1st and April 30th) please consider if they are really ready for Kinder, as you will no longer be able to have two years of three-year-old Kinder.

The children who are attending four-year-old Kinder and whom have a developmental delay in at least two areas (Identity, Community, Wellbeing, Learning, or Communication) or are diagnosed with additional needs are the only children who are recommended a Second Year.

• The Teacher organises the Second Year.

• Parents do not need to register through Banyule Council.

• The discussion takes place in Term 2.

• Parents receive an SMS in mid-July (from Banyule Council) stating that their child has been given a place in a Second Year of Funded four-year-old Kinder.

If you have any questions, please contact Banyule Council on 9490 4222.
